Hardware polishing & plating
Hardware is the first thing that catches the light and the first thing that gives a bag’s age away. Often it only needs polishing.
What this covers
- Buckles, clasps and turnlocks
- Chains and chain straps
- Zip pulls and sliders

- Gold, silver, rose gold and gunmetal
- Tarnish, dullness and light scratches
What happens to your piece
The actual order of work, so you know what you are paying for.
- Polish or plate is decided first. If the plating is still there under the tarnish, polishing is enough and costs a fraction. Plating is for where the base metal is showing through.
- The hardware comes off the bag. Wherever it can. The leather never goes near the process.
- The old finish is stripped. And the base metal polished smooth. The new finish can only be as even as what is under it.
- Plated in your chosen finish. Gold, silver, rose gold or gunmetal, subject to the fitting and the metal underneath.
- Refitted and checked. Back on the bag, working as it did.
What this cannot do
- Deep pitting in the base metal can still read through a new finish
- Engraved logos soften slightly each time metal is polished hard, and we point this out before starting
- One replated fitting beside untouched ones will look newer — doing all the visible hardware together is what looks right
- Hardware moulded permanently into the body cannot be removed, and is treated on the bag or left

Questions
What does pickup and drop cost?
Free anywhere in Mumbai. Thane / Navi Mumbai / Panvel: ₹150. Outside Mumbai, anywhere in India: ₹250 by courier, both ways — please pack the item yourself before the courier arrives. Share your full address with PIN code and we will confirm it for your area.
Can gold hardware be changed to silver?
Yes. When a fitting is replated it can take a different finish.
Will my brand logo survive polishing?
The original fitting is kept and refinished. Very worn engraving may look softer afterwards, and we tell you first.
How do I stop hardware tarnishing again?
Wipe it dry after use, keep perfume and sanitiser off it, and wrap chains in tissue when the bag is stored.
